and I wonder who’s to blame for this

So during the last three days of this week-long celebration, the parades, dancing, and merrymaking should not be missed. Participants paint their faces and bodies in many different ways and wear striking costumes as they dance and parade on the street.

What I really like about this event is that AnYBODY can join during the parade. Heck we even danced w/ them on the street. You can grab anyone who catches your attention and ask them to take a picture with you. You don’t have to worry a thing, people there are so friendly, and everyone is just clearly having a great time.

Ati-Athihan is indeed one of the greatest, most colorful and fun festivals here in the Philippines.

I really had a terrific time. It’s my first time to attend the said event…and definitely won’t be the last. See you there next year!

So in every big malls, there’s gotta be a Foodcourt! Foodcourt is a quick, convenient and affordable place to eat. With so many food choices, that can cater your hunger needs, it’s no wonder that this may be considered as one of the most popular spots at the mall.

To date, tenants of SM Foodcourt includes, Sizzling Plate, Casa Ilongga, Chicken N Ribs, Jollibee, Ted’s Batchoy, Breakthrough, Bacolod Lechon Hauz, Ocean City. Buko ni Fruitas, Thirsty, House of Panini, Sabor Ilonggo, Pizza Hut, Lavev Shawarma, Yukashii Sushi, Mon’s Takuyaki.

So last October 4, peanut and I dropped by at their “Food Blogger’s Event”.  Here are the shots we got from the said event –

DIRECTIONS
1. Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut it in half, lengthwise.

2. Add the potatoes to a large pot with enough water to cover them. Add a tablespoon of salt.

3. Bring the water to a boil. Cook until the potatoes are tender when pierced with a knife. 25-30 minutes or so.

4. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Cook the drained potatoes over low heat for a couple of minutes to evaporate some of the water still in the potato.


5. Remove from heat and mash it until smooth by your method of choice. (I just used a very big fork because I didn’t have those masher tools. How you mash it depends on how you want the texture to be.)

6. Blend the butter while it’s still hot. Add the milk, salt and pepper to taste. Mix.
You can garnish your mashed potatoes with some chopped parsley if you like.

What can I say, I’m a food person, I love to eat! Everybody loves to eat! Some may be contented in just munching vegetables, some may deprived theirselves from eating to maintain the weight, and some has to limit their food choices because of different cultures and beliefs.

Point is we eat in order to live…and some live to eat!

I must admit that I’m at my worst when it comes to ‘cooking’. I’m so busy with this so-called-life that i tend to have someone do other things for me, specifically cooking. I guess, I wasn’t brought up in the kitchen, didn’t really had the chance to stay there. Maybe more at the dining table — waiting to pounce on the food the cook had brought in. I’m more like a food critic perhaps…or could it be just plain lazy? *smiles*

I always enjoy dining out especially when I’m with people that matters to me, but it doubles the fun if it’s a treat and you don’t have to pay for anything. just kidding. Seriously, in order to really appreciate dining out, good food and good company is a must.

Well, I’m always curious about what’s that new restaurant has to offer, what’s new on the menu, what’s hot and what’s not. The weirder it is, the better. But it can also be very expensive. Y’know, money down the drain. You don’t need to empty your wallet to fill your stomach, right?

And so now, I promised myself to start learning the art of cooking ….or anything related to cooking and kitchen. There’s no greater feeling than knowing you cooked a fabulous meal, saved money, and also this could do great wonders to your health -since you can be sure what you put in there is fresh. You cooked it, you eat it!

The traveling and the exotic food might have to wait. Better save some money first.

Okay, so where shall I start? Cooking 101. Well, I do already know how to fry, heating up those processed food, but I’m not sure if it’s considered ‘really’ cooking. Hmmm…
